Many factors tested Clearway during the Rutherford Road project. Challenges included construction of 5.5 kms of watermain pipe incorporating valve chambers, tunnel crossings and a connection to the pre-existing watermain. This pipe crossed the East Humber River and required workers to work instream. Along the way, Clearway was also responsible for the rehabilitation of the Cockburn River Bridge, implementing road safety procedures through traffic control signals, illumination and traffic detours. Clearway overcame all obstacles relying on its workers’ determination, unparalleled skills and grit. By the time Clearway finished, the project was completed on budget and ahead of time without compromising a precious water resource.
